Texas' Parkland Memorial Hospital Slapped With $50K Fine for Patient Death in 2008

Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas has been slapped with a $50,000 fine for failure to deliver timely care to a patient who died in 2008 after waiting 17 hours in the emergency room, according to a Houston Chronicle news report.

 



According to the news report, the hospital violated the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act in failing to care for Mike Herrera, who had abdominal pain and later died of a heart attack.
