Texas A&M University in College Station announced its Healthy Texas Initiative, aimed at reducing preventable diseases, according to a report by The Texas Tribune.
The program will be operated through the university's newly created Texas A&M Institute for Public Health Improvement. The first phase of the initiative is a pilot program that focuses on reducing preventable diseases by 25 percent in South Texas by 2025 through educational efforts, according to the report.
