The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality's TeamSTEPPS teamwork measurement tool, the Teamwork Perceptions Questionnaire, is more reliable than previously recorded, according to research published in BMJ Quality & Safety.
Researchers surveyed 1,700 healthcare professionals with the tool and used a separate factor analysis to determine the relationship between TeamSTEPPS outcomes and staff perceptions of teamwork.
They found the measures were highly correlated, which "has beneficial implications for patient safety and future research that studies medical teamwork," according to the article.
