The guidance is geared toward healthcare epidemiologists. It details the relevant areas of incident management as well as the potential responsibilities of epidemiologists.
It features incident management frameworks, structures and terminology; recommendations for handling transfers to long-term care; legal, ethical and regulatory considerations; and the epidemiologist's role in internal and external communications.
The recommendations included in the document can be used in a range of outbreak scenarios.
