RWJF 'Pioneer Pitch Day' Promises Healthcare Revolution

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will host its first Pioneer Pitch Day, a presentation of eight transformative ideas for health and healthcare, Oct. 16 at the New York City AppNexus Headquarters.

The pitch day will unveil the eight best ideas from more than 500 submissions with ideas relevant to quality care, social determinants of health, leveraging data for health improvement and accelerating the pace of discovery.

At least one pitch-maker will be invited to submit a full proposal to RWJF for funding, though the audience will include a range of funders and agents for change, according to a news release.

The panel of judges for the pitches includes RWJF staff, angel investor Esther Dyson, PatientsLikeMe President and Co-Founder Ben Heywood, Rhode Island School of Design president John Maeda, IDEO Life Sciences Chief Strategist Rodrigo Martinez, Games for Health Co-Founder Ben Sawyer, Fast Company staff writer Ben Schiller and NPR Science Correspondent Shankar Vedantam.
