Researchers supplied more than 100 patients with a biographical card on their physicians, comparing the group's satisfaction ratings to those of another 100-member group, which did not receive cards.

Two weeks after discharge, patients who had received a biographical card on their physicians during their visits had satisfaction scores 22 percent higher than patients who did not receive a card.

Study authors suggested this intervention is an easy, inexpensive way to improve patient satisfaction through an improved physician-patient rapport, according to a news release.
