Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, Calif., has implemented a no-smoking policy, according to an Imperial Valley Press report.
The smoke-free policy prohibits patients and employees from smoking on the hospital campus and will be effective May 31. The policy was instituted as part of the hospital's efforts to obtain ISO 9001 accreditation from Det Norske Veritas, a CMS-deemed hospital accreditation organization.
