The Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority announced it has begun an "I am Patient Safety" campaign to support National Patient Safety Awareness Week March 3-9.
As part of the campaign, the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority distributed posters to all Pennsylvania hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, abortion facilities and birthing centers with a checklist of ways healthcare workers can improve patient safety.
The Authority also gave healthcare facilities "I am Patient Safety" pins that should be awarded to individuals within the facilities who help to improve patient safety. Accompanying the pins are note cards that facilities can send to the recognized individuals to explain why they earned the pin.
