The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute announced the development of a new program to support patient-centered outcomes research.
The PCORI Engagement Awards program will fund projects to enhance patient-centered outcomes research. The awards program has three award categories: knowledge, training and development and implementation.
PCORI will begin the awards program by investing up to $1.2 million for a training program to build research capacity and fund a series of Pipeline to Proposal Awards, which are in the training and development awards category. The Pipeline to Proposal Awards will have three tiers, each with a different focus:
1. Helping groups build partnerships.
2. Developing capacity and infrastructure and strengthening partnerships between these types of groups and researchers.
3. Supporting the development of a research proposal for a PCOR study that includes a plan for patient and stakeholder engagement.
