When choosing a healthcare provider, patients are influenced by online reviews of physicians, according to a survey conducted by Digital Assent, a provider of patient satisfaction surveys and online healthcare reputation marketing solutions.
Half of respondents said a positive online physician review could encourage them to choose that physician, while 72 percent said a negative review would deter them from choosing that physician.

Additionally, 46 percent of respondents said only two to five negative reviews out of 100 would be enough to prevent them from choosing a particular practice.
Eighteen percent of respondents said reviews do not have any influence on their decisions.
The study suggests online reviews are influential in patient perception and recruiting new patients.
