The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed an infographic for patients outlining what they can do to play an active role in their healthcare, be a safe patient and help reduce the spread of healthcare-associated infections.

The infographic outlines six actions patients can take to ensure their safety and the safety of others around them, such as properly communicating with providers, washing hands, knowing the signs and symptoms of infection and protecting one's self by receiving proper vaccinations.
