A patient broke through a window at Buffalo, N.Y.-based Erie County Medical Center April 29 and fell about 20 feet, reports ABC affiliate WKBW.
The patient fell from the hospital's eighth floor and landed on a ledge several stories below.
The individual survived the fall and is being treated for not life threatening injuries at ECMC's emergency department.
The medical center did not say why the patient broke through the window.
