The Ohio Senate has presented a resolution recognizing 25 Ohio hospitals' patient safety initiative in improving quality and eliminating certain avoidable medical errors, according to an Ohio Hospital Association news release.
The Solutions for Patient Safety initiative is a collaboration involving Ohio business leaders and healthcare providers. Goals for partnering hospital include developing sustainable, evidence-based approaches to reduce healthcare-associated infections and medication errors and improving data collection for benchmarking and quality improvement.
The program also includes specific program goals for Central Ohio hospitals and children's hospitals. So far, the collaboration has saved 14 lives and $7 million.
