ODPHP Proposes 5-Year HAI Action Plan

The Division of Health Care Quality in the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion has proposed a new set of healthcare-associated infection reduction targets for hospitals.

The first set of targets was in place from 2009 to 2013. When those targets expired, the steering committee for the prevention of HAIs introduced new targets to be measured from 2015 through 2020, including a new initiative geared toward preventing adverse drug events.
