To help spark dialogue and promote action to improve the safety of the healthcare system for patients and the workforce, the National Patient Safety Foundation has launched a campaign called United for Patient Safety.
A major highlight of the campaign will be observing Patient Safety Awareness Week, from March 13 to 19. NPSF encourages people to participate in the campaign by visiting the United for Patient Safety website where they can honor a loved one affected by a medical error, download educational materials, post pictures and share their Patient Safety Awareness Week plans.
Patients and families can also take part by pledging to be active members of their healthcare teams, participating in care decisions and asking more questions.
