The New Jersey Hospital Association and the National Center for Assisted Living have announced the launch of a joint patient safety organization, the National Patient Safety Organization for Assisted Living.
The organization will collect clinical outcomes data from participating assisted living facilities to explore causes of patient safety events in assisted living settings.
Measures to be tracked by the new patient safety organization include hospital readmissions, medication errors, falls, pressure ulcers and pain management, according to a news release. Data collection will begin Jan. 1, 2014.
