The National Institute of Nursing Research, part of the National Institutes of Health, has launched a campaign to increase awareness and use of pediatric palliative care.
The campaign, called Palliative Care: Conversations Matter, aims to promote palliative care as an option for children with severe illnesses, emphasizing palliative care works in conjunction with other treatments to help improve quality of life and patient satisfaction, according to the news release.

Additionally, the campaign highlights the distinction between palliative care and hospice care, emphasizing that palliative care is an option throughout an illness and is not only an end-of-life option.
The campaign's website offers evidence-based materials, such as informational videos and tools for physicians on how to start discussing palliative care, to help inform families and providers about care and treatment options.
