The NIH Clinical Center has admitted an American volunteer physician who was exposed to Ebola while working in Sierra Leone.
The patient was in Sierra Leone volunteering in an Ebola treatment unit and was transferred from an overseas facility to the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md., for observation and to enroll in a clinical protocol.
The patient is in the NIH Clinical Center's special clinical studies unit designed for high-level isolation capabilities.
