New Mexico hospital first in state to win 'patient safety excellence' award for 5 straight years

Gallup, N.M.-based Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services is the first hospital in the state to be honored with the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for five consecutive years.

The award by Healthgrades, which provides comparable data on about 4,500 acute care hospitals, ranks Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services in the top 10 percent of the country's hospitals for patient safety. 

Specific categories the hospital is recognized for include strong nurse and physician communication as well as patient room cleanliness.

"I am extremely proud of our hospital staff for delivering some of the best patient safety care in the US," said David Conejo, CEO of Rehoboth McKinley Christian Health Care Services. "We all work very hard to maintain these high standards, and being recognized by the community is a great honor."
