Four things to know:

2. The celebration ends May 12 on Florence Nightingale's birthday. Ms. Nightingale is widely credited for founding modern nursing.

3. The ANA is offering a toolkit with numerous resources to help celebrate nurses this week, including thank-you card templates, recognition certificates and email drafts.

4. Nurses can also receive free nursing e-books from Amazon this week and a free item from Cinnabon, among other promotions, reports Fox 8 Cleveland.
