Data reported by 64 Wisconsin hospitals showed more than half experienced zero central line-associated bloodstream infections during the first six months of 2011, according to a Wisconsin Hospital Association news release.
The CLABSI data is reported through WHA's public reporting website CheckPoint (WiCheckPoint.org). The data was collected from Jan. 1-June 30, 2011. Results from the data also showed two hospitals performed "better than expected," and the balance performed "as expected" when compared to the national benchmark prepared by the CDC. The report also showed significantly fewer Wisconsin patients suffer from a CLABSI than in the nation.
