The Measure Applications Partnership has released a pre-ruling report with input on 368 measures under consideration by HHS for physician, hospital and post-acute care/long-term care performance measurement programs.
In its pre-ruling report, MAP has indicated one of three conclusions for each measure, either supporting the measure, supporting the direction of the measure or not supporting the measure. Of the 368 measures under federal consideration, MAP has thrown its support behind 40 percent of the measures. It also supports the direction of 15 percent of the measures and does not support approximately 45 percent of the measures.
MAP's pre-ruling report is open to public comment until Jan. 20. MAP is a public-private partnership convened by the National Quality Forum. MAP was created for the explicit purpose of providing input to HHS on the selection of performance measures for CMS' public reporting and performance-based payment programs.
