Joint Commission launches Ebola preparedness safety advisory tools

In response to the growing Ebola threat and the increased risk of individuals traveling from affected countries to the United States, The Joint Commission has launched an advisory on safety actions and preparedness in U.S. healthcare facilities.

The advisory address safety actions for providers to consider, such as ensuring all staff and clinicians who may come in contact with Ebola patients are educated and trained on Ebola guidance, reevaluating infection control plans to ensure proper guidelines and requirements and reviewing emergency operations plans.
