The Joint Commission recognized nine U.S. hospitals for advancing the evolution and utilization of health IT and electronic clinical quality measures to drive quality improvements in 2017 and 2018.
The accrediting organization released a publication to recognize these hospitals and health systems. Trends among organizations that have seen success with electronic clinical quality measures include ensuring data quality and accuracy, collaborating on governance and structure and optimizing clinical workflow and education.
The nine hospitals are:
1. BayCare Health System (Clearwater, Fla.)
2. BJC HealthCare (St. Louis)
3. MedStar St. Mary's Hospital (Leonardtown, Md.)
4. Memorial Hermann Health System (Houston)
5. Texas Health Resources (Arlington)
6. St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital (Newburgh, N.Y.)
7. St. Mary Medical Center (Langhorne, Pa.)
8. Vail (Colo.) Health Hospital
9. VCU Health (Richmond, Va.)
