Chris Jerry, an iHeart radio program host and patient safety advocate, has launched a radio program called "Surviving Healthcare Today!" to discuss the basics of patient safety advocacy.
Mr. Jerry became interested in patient safety advocacy after he lost his 2-year-old daughter to a preventable medical error and discovered how widespread and devastating such incidences are. Some estimates suggest as many as 440,000 men, women and children die in the U.S. each year from preventable medical errors.
Since his daughter's death, Mr. Jerry began working on facilitating patient safety solutions for every level of medical care. With his new radio program, he aims to help listeners get involved in the solution instead of falling victim to the problem.
Mr. Jerry is co-producing "Surviving Healthcare Today!" with his advocacy partner, Joni Aldrich. Ms. Aldrich has already helped launch seven advocacy-based radio programs in the past five years.
