A cardiologist in Idaho recently became the first female physician in the world to complete 1,000 robotic procedures to treat cardiac arrhythmias.
Margot Vloka, MD, joined Boise, Idaho-based Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center as a cardiac electrophysiologist in 2015.
She is now the fifth physician in the U.S. and 13th in the world to perform 1,000 cardiac catheter ablations using the Stereotaxis Robotic Magnetic Navigation System. She is also the first such physician to reach this milestone at a community hospital.
Saint Alphonsus adopted the robotic technology in 2011.
