House Coalition Calls for CMS to Revise 2 Stroke Measures

In a letter to CMS, 23 members of the House Congressional Heart and Stroke Coalition called for a revision of two stroke-related quality measures included in the proposed rule for the inpatient prospective payment system in fiscal year 2014, according to an AHA News Now report.

The members suggested CMS revise the proposed 30-day stroke mortality and stroke hospital readmission measures to adjust for stroke severity. The American Hospital Association supported the coalition's letter in comments to CMS, according to the report.
