HHS' National Vaccine Advisory Committee has recommended healthcare facilities that cannot reach a 90 percent vaccination rate for employees should consider making the vaccination an employer requirement, according to an AHA News Now report.
The committee has also recommended healthcare facilities create a flu prevention program and integrate the program into their infection control efforts. It has also called on HHS to encourage healthcare employee vaccination and standardize measurement of employee vaccination rates.
The committee's recommendations will be submitted to HHS.
