Harvard Pilgrim Health Care's Quality Grants Program will administer grants totaling almost $1 million to 12 physician group initiatives designed to improve care delivery and reduce costs within a variety of care delivery models.
"The initiatives we are funding this year provide a framework for delivering better care by allowing physicians to focus on providing the right care at the right time rather than what leads to a billable encounter," said Michael Sherman, MD, Harvard Pilgrim's chief medical officer and senior vice president. "Emphasis is placed on rewarding physicians for improving care coordination and health outcomes. By supporting these initiatives, both Harvard Pilgrim and our provider partners can help drive greater healthcare value for all."
