Self-protection appears to be the most compelling factor for healthcare workers when deciding whether or not to receive a vaccine, according to a study in Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology.
Researchers performed a meta-analysis on 37 studies evaluating factors influencing vaccine acceptance by healthcare workers.
The other top influencing factor was desire to protect family and friends.
Researchers suggest their findings could be useful in designing programs to increase the number of healthcare workers who receive vaccines.
