The non-profit organization Equity of Care has published a case study guide outlining hospitals' successes in improving health disparities, according to an AHA News Now report.
The guide, titled "Eliminating Health Care Disparities: Implementing the National Call to Action Using Lessons Learned," examines how nine healthcare organizations successfully improved health disparities in one of the three ways:
• Boosted collection of race, ethnicity and language preference data
• Increased cultural competency training for clinicians and support staff
• Fostered diversity in governance and management
