Metairie, La.-based East Jefferson General Hospital earned designation as the 2018 No. 1 hospital in the state for patient safety and overall medical care from the healthcare information service CareChex, marking the third consecutive year the hospital has earned this distinction.
The CareChex overall hospital care quality rating is based upon several measures, including mortality, complications and patient satisfaction. Additionally, EJGH earned the 2018 Stroke Care Excellence Award and Neurosciences Excellence Award from the healthcare ratings provider Healthgrades.
"To be named number one in the state once is outstanding, but to do it for a third straight term highlights our commitment to our patients," said Gerald Parton, president and CEO of EJGH, in an emailed release. "Our dedication to excellent medical outcomes and patient safety remains our top priority; these latest quality rankings confirm our standing in the healthcare industry."
