A baby born Oct. 31 is in recovery after contracting the Ebola virus, according to a report issued by the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at Minneapolis-based University of Minnesota.
The pediatric patient is the youngest known patient to contract Ebola. The newborn was admitted for treatment in the Democratic Republic of Congo six days after birth. The baby's mother died in childbirth.
Meanwhile, 10 more Ebola cases have been reported in the Congo, bringing the total number of cases to 515. About 467 of the cases have been confirmed and 48 have been listed as probable. Seven more Ebola-related deaths have been reported, bringing the fatality count to 303.
