Health officials on April 26 confirmed 23 Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo — a new record for the most cases reported in one day for the current outbreak, according to CIDRAP News.
Four things to know:
1. The previous record was set April 7, when officials reported 16 cases in one day.
2. In total, the outbreak has caused 1,396 confirmed and probable Ebola infections, along with 900 deaths as of April 26.
3. Another 260 suspected cases are under investigation, and 394 people have been healed.
4. Health workers have vaccinated 105,757 people against Ebola since Aug. 8, 2018.
