The CDC is hosting a two-day meeting from Feb. 27-28 to discuss strategies for controlling the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which is the primary vector responsible for the spread of the Zika virus, among other infectious disease.
More than 150 scientists from around the world were invited to report accomplishments and challenges of existing mosquito control science, develop innovative methods of mosquito control and give input on the design of epidemiologic studies to evaluate these tools.

The opening session of the meeting occurred Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Eastern time. The final session will be webcast Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time.
