CDC report: Flu visits above national baseline, but mild week overall

For the week of Jan. 17-23, the proportion of outpatient visits in the U.S. influenza-like illness was 2.2 percent, one tenth of a percentage point above the national baseline for prior flu seasons, according to a CDC report

No new influenza-associated pediatric deaths were reported for the same week and six of 10 regions in the U.S. reported instances of flu cases above their respective averages. Overall, cases of flu are increasing as expected for this point in the season.
