CDC hosts infectious disease experts to discuss HAIs, Ebola

The CDC is hosting its International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases in Atlanta this week, covering topics from food poisoning and antimicrobial resistance to sexually transmitted diseases.

Sessions for Aug. 27 included:

  • Healthcare-associated infections in the U.S. and Europe
  • What healthcare professionals learned from the West Africa Ebola outbreak
  • Challenges for disease elimination and eradication

The conference is held every two to three years and brings over 1,500 public health professionals from around the world together to share information on issues affecting the emergence spread, and control of infectious disease.
