Proventix Systems, a provider of technology solutions for healthcare providers, has announced a call for nominations for the annual Lathem Physician Leadership Award in Hand Hygiene.
The award is named in honor of Mickey Lathem, who began advocating hand hygiene and promoting a heightened awareness among all healthcare providers after his own child contracted a healthcare-associated infection.
The award recognizes physician leadership that provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients via exemplary hand hygiene practices. He or she demonstrates quality through personal compliance and vocal, active leadership. Previous awardees include Edmund Wroblewski, MD, chief medical officer at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and Michael Mohr, MD, of Apex Family Medicine.
The award nomination form is available here until May 18th. Lathem Award winners will be announced in June.
