Bethune-Cookman University and Halifax Health, both based in Daytona Beach, Fla., signed a memorandum of understanding forging a partnership that aims at strengthening health and wellness services in the Daytona Beach and Midtown communities in Florida.
According to the MOU, the institutions will work together to build a sustainable and integrated model of population health and wellness education, training, research and outreach programs. Also, the organizations will work to develop community-based initiatives and explore the application of healthcare technologies.
The foundation for this partnership lies in the $1 million gift to Bethune-Cookman University from Joe Petrock, executive director of Halifax health's Foundation/Government Relations.
