The Arkansas Department of Health on Oct. 16 confirmed the state's first flu death of the 2018-19 season, according to 40/29 News.
Here are three things to know:
1. The patient was between 45 and 64 years old and did not receive a flu shot, according to 5News.
2. The health department also reported more than 150 positive flu tests in the state since Sept. 30.
3. Arkansas saw 227 deaths in the 2017-18 flu season.
