The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology has named its 2012 officers and board of directors, according to an APIC news release.
Michelle Farber, RN, an infection preventionist with Mercy Community Hospital in Coons Rapids, Minn., has been named president. She has held several positions within APIC and was nominated as president-elect in 2010.
Patti Grant, RN, BSN, director of infection prevention and quality at Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison, Texas, has been elected president-elect. She will hold this position until Jan. 2013, at which point she will become APIC president.
Six people have been elected or re-elected to serve on the board of directors for two years; four board members will continue to serve on the board.
