The CDC and the American Nurses Association jointly launched a nursing education network for infection control and prevention.
The Nursing Infection Control Education Network consists of 20 specialty nursing organizations that hold organizational-level membership in the ANA. NICE Network members are working together to develop infection prevention and control training materials to help nurses when responding to emerging infectious disease threats like the Ebola virus.

"Nurses have played a critical role in educating the public and other healthcare workers about controlling and preventing the spread of the Ebola and Zika viruses," said ANA President Pamela Cipriano, PhD, RN, according to an email release. "Like the CDC, we recognize that nurses are on the front lines of delivering care and should be fully equipped to tackle emerging threats to protect themselves and the people they serve."
