American journalist in Liberia tests positive for Ebola

An American freelance journalist working in Liberia has tested positive for Ebola, according to CNN.

The journalist, Ashoka Mukpo, was working as a cameraman for NBC News. He was hired by NBC News on Tuesday and started feeling symptomatic Wednesday, when he quarantined himself.

Mr. Mukpo then checked into a tent hospital in Monrovia run by Doctors Without Borders where his diagnosis was confirmed. He is scheduled to return to the U.S. on Sunday by air ambulance for treatment.

The rest of the NBC medical team members do not have symptoms but will be quarantined for 21 days upon returning to the U.S. as a precaution, according to the report.
