The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has posted in the Federal Register a request for metrics to measure the quality of pediatric inpatient experiences.
AHRQ is calling for researchers, hospitals, vendors, stakeholders and other interested parties to submit candidate measures or domains that measure families' satisfaction with the quality of inpatient medical or surgical care provided to their child or children. The goal is to develop a standardized instrument for use in the public reporting of family experience of pediatric inpatient care.
Interested parties must submit their recommendations by Feb. 21. Children's Hospital Boston Center of Excellence for Pediatric Quality Measurement will use the submissions to develop a pediatric inpatient experience survey in accordance with CAHPS Survey Design Principles.
