Four healthcare organizations have been recognized by the American Hospital Association for their commitment to and progress in achieving the Institute of Medicine's six quality aim: safety, patient-centeredness, effectiveness, efficiency, timeliness and equity.
The American Hospital Association-McKesson Quest for Quality Prize is given annually to honor hospitals that are making progress in quality improvement with models that can be replicated by others in the hospital field. University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio; Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center in the Bronx, N.Y.; and University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill, N.C., were recognized as finalists. Meriter Hospital in Madison, Wis., was recognized with a Citation of Merit.
