The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses has selected seven hospitals in North Carolina to participate in a new hospital-based nurse leadership and innovation training program.
The AACN Clinical Scene Investigator Academy is intended to empower bedside nurses as clinician leaders and change agents to improve patient outcomes with bottom-line impact to the hospital. For the next 16 months, teams of four nurses from each hospital will work with CSI faculty, an internal mentor and their chief nursing officer to identify issues related to existing patient care responsibilities. Teams will then develop and implement unit-based projects to boost patient outcomes and decrease hospital expenses.
Participating hospitals include:
• Duke Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh
• Duke University Hospital, Durham
• Durham Regional Hospital, Durham
• Rex Healthcare, Raleigh
• UNC Health Care, Chapel Hill
• WakeMed Cary Hospital, Cary
• WakeMed Raleigh Campus, Raleigh
