7 Colorado hospitals with the cleanest rooms, as reported by patients

The following is a list of hospitals in Colorado for which 81 percent or more of patients reported their room and bathroom were "always" clean on their HCAHPS surveys.

Data were pulled from CMS' Hospital Compare's most recently available data, from April 2014 through March 2015.

For reference, Colorado's average rate for patients reporting their room and bathroom were "always" clean is 75 percent. The national average is 74 percent.

Note: Hospitals with insufficient data, such as having fewer than 100 completed surveys, were excluded.

1. Animas Surgical Hospital (Durango) — 86 percent

2. Montrose (Colo.) Memorial Hospital — 85 percent

3. Yampa Valley Medical Center (Steamboat Springs) — 84 percent

4. Aspin (Colo.) Valley Hospital — 84 percent

5. OrthoColorado Hospital at St. Anthony Med Campus (Lakewood) — 83 percent

6. Delta (Colo.) County Memorial Hospital — 81 percent

7. Valley View Hospital Association (Glenwood Springs) — 81 percent
