The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute have released a report ranking counties within each state by health.
The 2013 County Health Rankings examine 25 factors that influence health, including childhood poverty rates, smoking rates and access to physicians and dentists. The rankings also compare the overall health outcomes of counties within states based on mortality and morbidity rates. The rankings are calculated within states and include counties and county equivalents that have their own Federal Information Processing Standard county code.
