Eight people were hospitalized at Sutter Delta Medical Center after attending a community Thanksgiving dinner at the American Legion Hall in Antioch, Calif. Three of the hospitalized patients reportedly died, according to NBC 4.
The hospital confirmed admitting eight patients with probable food-borne illness. Four of the surviving patients were treated and released, and one remains hospitalized. All patient's reportedly lived together. It is not yet known if the infections were related to the meal. According to NBC 4, 835 people attended the community dinner.
Contra Costa County Public Health Department is investigating the illnesses. According to NBC 4, the department does not believe there is any risk to the general public.
