The following hospitals in Idaho received top marks on patients' HCAHPS surveys for nurse communication.
At least 88 percent of patients at these five hospitals responded on the surveys that nurses always communicated well. In Idaho, the average is 81 percent, higher than the national average of 80 percent.
The figures are from CMS' Hospital Compare website and represent HCAHPS scores collected from July 2015 through June 2016, the most recent data available.
Note: Hospitals with fewer than 100 completed surveys were excluded from this list.
1. Bear Lake Memorial Hospital (Montpelier) — 89 percent
2. Northwest Specialty Hospital (Post Falls) — 87 percent
3. St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center (Ketchum) — 87 percent
4. Treasure Valley Hospital (Boise) — 86 percent
5. St. Luke's McCall — 85 percent
